Together with a friend I walked up Swanston Street to find a cheap restaurant for dinner. After checking the menu, we decided to go for Pho Bo Ga Mekong Vietnam, which is located between Little Bouke Street and Lonsdale Street. It was around at 6 pm on a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was quite packed, but the waiteress could find us a nice table. The waitress was there immediately there to took our order, and we received the food in less than 15 minutes. We both had beef and brisket chicken soup (9.50 $). The chicken soup tasted amazing, balanced and well flavoured. The beef meat in the soup came in thin slices, which were extremly tender, and the beef meat was without any parts of cartilage or other disgusting stuff, just good beef meat. The rice-noodles seemed hand-made, as they were cut not regularly. The dish came with bean sprouts on a seperate plate, as usual for Vietnamese soups. Both my friend and I loved the dish, and would definetely eat it again. Payment has to be made at the counter. They might split the bill if you ask politely.
